It must be conserved for the ecological welfare of the country. CPREEC has been working in the NBR for the past three decades. Andaman & Nicobar Islands Conservation Andaman & Nicobar Islands are rich in biodiversity, harbouring unique flora and fauna, comprising of 572 islands, reefs and rocks. Ecological Heritage and Conservation of Sacred Groves India is endowed with many gifts of nature. For three decades CPREEC has been documenting the unique ecological heritage of the country by surveying more than 10,000 sacred groves, restoring 53, and conserving several more. Its mandate is to raise awareness and disseminate information about the environment and its various problems.
